![]() ![]() The many advantages that the system offers on the battlefield can equally be exploited to combat wildfires. ROVER, or Remotely Operated Video Enhanced Receiver, has encompassed several generations since its introduction in the mid-2000s and was essentially the first system of its kind to provide a robust means of sharing visual information between forward air controllers on the ground and military aircraft. The data is carried by a microwave link.” For example, an Operations Section Chief could draw on a map on the screen of the portable device to illustrate where he wants an air-drop, or the location of a stream that needs to be protected from retardant drops, and his drawings would show up on a screen in front of the pilot. The Deluxe version of the game is also sold for 10 USD more than the Standard version of the game. In an earlier report about the Cobras, Fire Aviation explained, “The Cobras have a ROVER system that can transmit and receive data to and from a hand-held device about the size of an iPad mini, but not as thin as an iPad. The Deluxe Pack includes the Ambush at Sea mission, the Desert Cobra pack (1 outfit, 2 legendary weapons, 1 legendary shield and 1 mount), and 3 Ability points. served the Forest Service for 19 years and reached their maximum lifespan after flying approximately 7,600 flight hours with the Cobra program.”įootage from the latest fire season in California, including firewatch Cobras in action: “Local communities and wildland firefighters will be better served by the advancements in modern technology. “There is no reduction in firefighting surveillance or operational capabilities with the transition,” the organization told Fire Aviation. Forest Service is adamant that their retirement won’t adversely affect firefighting in the region. That said, with the aid of comprehensive upgrades, AH-1F variants do remain in frontline military service outside the United States.ĭespite their unique characteristics, the U.S. Marine Corps in recent years, the now-retired AH-1W, and the current AH-1Z. What that means is that when it's mentioned '1 Tier 3-5 horse', you get 1x Tier 3-5 Horse and that's it. ![]() Also, note that the content of those pack are not shared between each of your characters. The other weapon, the Spear with the Timeaus set is Epic, but you better like spears, and even then you find Epic loot pretty regularly and that will be going in your storage pretty quickly. It’s important to remember these single-engine Cobra variants have more in common with those that saw action in the Vietnam War and during the Cold War than they do the twin-engine AH-1s that have been flown in combat by the U.S. If you're bored with the game after 1 character reaching lvl 50+, then those pack aren't worth it at all. And the Sword with that set "Dusk something or another" is not even Epic, it's just a mediocre weapon that you will replace nearly immediately. And it is kind of stupid because youre wearing bright, highly reflective gold an it's supposed to be assassin gear. In retrospect, I wouldn't use that armor if it was free. The other set is good if youre Cassandra, but putting the waist on Alexios makes him look like TS / Drag (a skirt slit going all the way up to the belt-line, really? You couldn't make a masculine version of this for Alexios? Come on now Ubisoft. Seriously, what a complete rip off.Īnd the Timeaus set just looks stupid, with some stupid gaping old man maw for a belt buckle "Old Man Timeaus". The whole thing is to get you to go the store and buy more helix crap, which you will have to spend $5 on at minimum.Īt least they could have given you more Helix credits and a proper Legendary armor and weapon set for $7. All I wanted was the ship statue thing you place on the stern but they are all 250 Helix (until recent sale, which hardly happens). To add insult to injury, the 200 Helix credits they give you you can't even buy anything in the stupid store. It's good out of the gate for maybe the first 10 levels tops, but you quickly find gear that is better. ![]() It's garbage, I regret wasting $7 on this, I should have go the version that was $30 with all DLC instead of $37 for this armor and weapons and like $2000 drachmae, what a joke, I feel completely ripped off. ![]()

![]() There’s the requisite ultrabook entrails, a high-PPI touch screen, a decent-sized SSD, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0, micro HDMI, a couple of cameras, a stylus, and a host of sensors. Better than a Windows RT tablet? Well, just take a look at all the hardware Samsung packs inside this thing. The 700T1C model we’re looking at today sells for $1,189.99 shipped at Newegg with the keyboard dock in the box. …and the all-important keyboard dock accessory. It has a Core i5-3317U processor, an 11.6″ 1080p display… There’s no popping off the keyboard to surf the web on the couch more comfortably.Īs luck would have it, we have a member of this Windows 8 convertible breed in our labs: Samsung’s ATIV Smart PC Pro 700T, which is also known as the 700T1C. ![]() But keep in mind that actual laptops with the same kind of hardware don’t sell for much less, and they lack the flexibility of convertibles. Yes, these machines are a little spendy, with prices floating around the $1,000 mark right now. It’s certainly a lovely concept on paper. Strap on a keyboard dock, and you’d be hard-pressed to tell them apart from an ultrabook. They look a bit like jumbo iPads from the outside, and they run all the same Modern UI apps as their WinRT peers, but they’re full-featured x86 PCs under the hood. Some of those are effectively shrunken ultrabooks, with 17W Ivy Bridge processors, high-PPI displays, speedy SSDs, USB 3.0, and all that good stuff. If you’re prepared to pay a little extra-okay, a lot extra-you can spring for a Windows 8 convertible. Windows RT isn’t the only way to go if you want a Windows tablet, though. I’ll take a Nexus 10 or an iPad over a Surface RT any day. That leads to a lot of frustration and confusion, and the semi-useless portion of the operating system has a hefty storage footprint. Then there’s the matter of the desktop interface, which looks and feels like the real thing but won’t run any of your old apps (since x86 software isn’t compiled to execute on ARM hardware). They also tend to have lower-resolution screens (1366×768 ahoy), and they have a comparatively limited library of native applications. ![]() ![]() They’re slower to load applications, for starters. The thing is, Windows RT tablets just don’t seem to measure up to their Apple and Android rivals. Spurring some competition is always good. Oh, don’t get me wrong it’s great that Microsoft is pursuing a two-pronged strategy, with ARM on one side and Intel on the other. I’m not really impressed with Windows RT tablets. ![]() ![]() ![]() When writing the driver, use the WDF class extension-client driver model. One of the main responsibilities of a driver for a dual-role controller is to switch between those two roles, tearing down the previous role's device node and loading the device node for the new role. ![]() Conversely, the controller can operate in the host role when connected to USB peripherals like storage drives, keyboard, mice. In that scenario, the controller on the device operates in the function role. A mobile device can behave as a peripheral when it is connected to a PC, allowing you to transfer files between your PC and the mobile device. These controllers are common on mobile devices and allow for connections to PCs, as well as USB peripherals like keyboards and mice.
